Welcome to our guide to the Kennet and Avon Canal, with notes and photographs from our trip along the canal between Autumn 2018 and Spring 2019. To start with we used The River Thames Book by Chris Cove-Smith as a guide as far as Great Bedwyn, and then bought River Thames and Southern Waterways published by Collins Nicholson as a guide to the rest of the canal.

Both books are very good and well worth buying, but they don't tell you much about where you can moor easily. They also don't say much about low footbridges and where you can buy food (shops are few and far between on the K & A). So we hope our notes will fill in a few gaps.
